Burnet County Family Law Filing -- District vs. County Court-at-Law (CCL)

The judges of the two courts have adopted a joint administrative order for the division of cases falling under the family code.

The essence of the division is that all divorce and SAPCR cases have
been transferred to (and new ones will be filed in) the CCL except those that Judge Jones has already begun hearing. CPS cases remain in the district court (and are referred to the Associate Judge) as do all juvenile cases which are heard by the sitting judge.

If you find that a case is docketed in the CCL and you feel it should be in District, contact the District Court Administrator.
